Web Wednesday: Warning. Poop Jokes Ahead

Hey guys! It's been awhile since I've posted a Web Wednesday, but I stumbled on a great video this week. I showed it to my coworkers and we laughed so hard we cried. I will warn you though, don't show it to your husbands/fiances/boyfriends/significant others if they have the maturity of a 12 year old.

Also, I'm sure those of you with kids that obsess over the movie Frozen and watch it on repeat have had the song stuck in your head forever. Good luck getting this version out of your head.

Without further ado, the best video you'll watch all week.

You're welcome.

A Day in the Life

5:45 am: My day starts fairly early. My first alarm goes off at 5:45 and I usually snooze it once before I roll out of bed. I’m actually a morning person so it doesn’t bother me to get up before most people. It  gives me a few extra minutes to have to myself.
I don't just wake up looking like this.
6:00 ish: I hop in the shower and start the ever important task of getting ready for the day. By the time I’m out of the shower, Morgan is patiently waiting for me at the door so she can get her morning started. We turn on some Netflix (right now I’m catching up on Parenthood so I can watch the final season which starts tonight), and I get right down to the dirty work. Blow drying and straightening my hair. Every day. I wish I had perfect, hop out of the shower don’t do a thing hair, but I don’t. It takes a lot of work, product and tools.
7:15: Yes, it takes me over an hour to get ready. That’s why I get up so early. But then I take Morgan outside so she can do her business. She usually spends a couple minutes running around and playing with Cheyanne, the neighbor dog before she tries to bum some treats off Cheyanne’s mom.
7:30: I eat a quick bowl of cereal, feed the dog and head out the door.
I've had this cereal bowl since I was about 10.
7:45: I cross the bridge into Nebraska (Yes, I drive to a different state every day. Sometimes I’m in three states in one day), and arrive at work. I like to be there early so I can get a few things done before everyone else shows up. Also, it gives me a couple minutes to check Facebook.
My long list of complaints.
8:15: Everyone else shows up and we all get coffee or water, sometimes eat breakfast that someone brought in and do a little chatting before our boss shows up.
8:30 – 10:00: The first part of my day is usually spent putting out fires from the night before. I deal with any complaints we may have gotten that pertain to me, I return phone messages, answer emails, check to see if anyone important is checking in for that day and if I need to do anything special for them. Today’s main fire is a client who wants me to magically make a room appear for him on a day that we are already sold out. Sorry buddy. Go ahead and complain and take your business elsewhere, but I know you’ll be back.

Finding a DJ is the worst.
10:00 – 11:00: I usually squeeze a little wedding planning into some part of my day. Currently we’re trying to find a DJ so I’ve been researching and contacting them. And no, sorry, but I won’t pay you $500 to play 3 songs at my 20 minute wedding ceremony. Next.

11:00 – 12:15: This is when we lunch. Lunch is a big deal here. We all get to eat for free at our restaurant on property which is pretty much the We have a big family lunch every day and we all sit around our meeting table to eat and chat. Except today, I have a lunch meeting with a prospective client. I’ll give her a tour of our property then schmooze her with lunch and dessert before I ask for her business.
1:00: We meet for cake. We find any reason at all to eat cake, cupcakes cookies etc. Today it is a retirement and a 5 year anniversary with cookie cake.
I spend way too much time on this thing.

2:00: I get to work calling/emailing some prospective clients. Some days I stay in my office to do this and other days I go out and drop in on some at the offices. Just depends how I’m feeling and what the weather is doing obviously. (I’m not about to be out traipsing around in the rain doing sales calls. Did you not see earlier where it takes me an hour to straighten my hair? Yeah, no.)

3:00: Some days I have meetings at this time, some days I’m out of town on sales calls, some days I’m meeting with clients or brides and some days we go for a walk around the property and check out the progress on the new outdoor pool they’re putting in!
3:30 – 5:00: During this time I try to call a few more prospects, answer emails, deal with more complaints, get my ducks in a row for future groups, ask a football team for the millionth time for their rooming list, clean off my desk and head out the door.
5:30: After work I usually head on over to the gym for Zumba and dance my ass off for an hour. That’s about the only form of workout I’m doing lately. It’s the only one that doesn’t bore me to death.
6:45: I get home and either start making dinner or Eric has already made dinner for me.
7:00 – 9:00: We usually veg on the couch for a couple of hours catching up on the DVR before I shower and head to bed. We usually go to lay in bed pretty early, but end up watching a couple episodes of Friends/How I Met Your Mother before falling asleep and doing it all again the next day.
That’s your typical day in the life of Kate. The schedule of what I do doesn’t change much, but what goes on at work changes a lot. One day I might be preparing rooms for Alice Cooper and the next I might be trying to explain to someone that no, I can’t just make another room magically appear for you no matter how much you beg/plead/threaten to take your business elsewhere.
What about you guys? Does your routine get switched up a lot or is it pretty much the same day to day?

High Fives All Around!

Hey Everybody! Happy Friday! Finally! This week did nothing but drag on, so let's touch on a few of the highlights of the week...

1. I got invited to be a model for a Mary Kay event next week. One of Momma Deb's dear friends is  the Mary Kay lady of all Mary Kay ladies. They are apparently having an event in Sioux City next week for someones promotion and she emailed me and asked if I wanted to be a model for it. Sounds like a blast to me! I get a free makeover and probably get to have a few drinks with some crazy Mary Kay ladies.

2. We finally got engagement pictures taken. I had been waiting to get them done for awhile. I had all my new outfits purchased, practiced doing my hair and makeup and just had to wait. We ended up getting them done on Tuesday, the most beautiful day we've had all year. It was a blast, but now I just have to wait some more for them to be ready....

3. We're heading to Denison this weekend for a BBQ fest. I'm thinking it will be pretty fun. There is a Hairball concert tonight, which I'm sure will be a blast. We'll also get to partake in some beer and BBQ. Some of my favorite things.

4. Work has been pretty steady. I've been booking some pretty big events including one that my 7th grade shop teacher is coordinating. I had the pleasure of meeting with him the other day. He's just as pervy now as he was when I was in 7th grade. But his event is going to make me a butt load of money so I guess I can put up with it.

5. We started our fall volleyball league this past weekend. If you remember from last year, we were pretty awful. It was Eric and I and then a bunch of his older coworkers. We didn't win a single game. So this year, we did some revamping of our team. Invited some new friends from our softball team as well as a few others. We haven't won yet, but there is hope. :)

On a completely unrelated note, we've been cruising right along with wedding planning aside from a bump in the road with a DJ that wanted to charge us $500 just to do our ceremony. (Uh, no thanks. I'm not paying that much for you to play 3 songs.) So I'm hoping the rest of wedding planning goes just as smoothly. I've picked up my dress, just waiting to get it altered. We've gotten a lot of little things done which is nice.

I hope you guys all had a fabulous week and have a great weekend in store!

That's when I know without a doubt that I can't live without you!

Hi People! I know it's been a little while since I've stopped by. I've been sorta busy. Our September has been crazy between weddings and concerts and everything so far! But I did get a little time to do some crafting this weekend after I saw one of my favorite artists up close and personal at the new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino here in town. That's right! Little old Sioux City has a Hard Rock. It opened a little over a month ago and it's pretty awesome. I don't really gamble, so I haven't spent a lot of time there, but they have brought some bomb concerts to the area including one of my favorites, Phil Vassar!
This is what front row tickets gets you.
I have been dying to see him for awhile so when I finally got the chance, I was pumped. I splurged and bought front row tickets as a birthday gift to myself! Sometimes those are the best birthday gifts. Of course, Eric doesn’t really know who Phil Vassar is and didn’t even know I was that big of fan. Well as we got closer to the concert, I got more and more excited. I tried so hard to win meet and greet passes all week but didn’t win. L

Fast forward to the day of the concert and I had commented on someone’s post on Facebook about how we were going to the show. I get a text a couple hours later from a friend who works at the Hard Rock and deals with all the entertainment asking me if I wanted meet and greet passes! Of course I did!! I was pumped!
Standing on his piano that was held together with duct tape.
We only got to meet him for about a minute and take a quick picture, but it was awesome! And the concert was even more amazing! I even teared up a bit during one song. I don’t know if it was because it was a sappy wedding song or if I was just that excited that I was there in the front row singing along to every song. Probably a combination of the two. (I’m a nerd, I don’t care.)
!!!!!!!!!!!! (also, damn, I look good in this picture.)

The show itself was even better than I could have ever imagined. He is such a phenomenal performer and sounds incredible live. Homeboy can play the piano like nobody’s business. And I don’t care if he’s old enough to be my dad, he’s kind of a babe. I would pay to go see him over and over again a million times. It was perfect.

I think the best part was after the concert Eric said to me, “Jeeze, you sang along every word to every song. I guess you are kind of a big fan.”

Also, on a completely unrelated note, we’re getting engagement pictures taken tomorrow! So stay tuned for a sneak peak!

So there is one thing all women hate. Periods. No doubt about it, they are the single worst thing ever. Maybe I'm the only one that thinks this way, but probably not. I can't be the only one who hates that wonderful monthly gift, right?

Well thanks to Influenster and my Vitality Vox Box, periods suck a lot less now.

In my Vitality Vox Box I received a complimentary a box of Playtex Sport Fresh Balance tampons. Now, I have been buying the same tampons for over a decade, so needless to say, I don't welcome change that often. But let me tell you, these are great!

I try to be pretty active, i.e. I go to Zumba a few times a week, and these definitely help me #PlayOn and the Odor Shield feature is awesome.

So next time you go out and are about to grab the same ol' box of tampons you always buy, take a leap of faith and switch it up a bit. You might just be a convert!

Pour Some Sugar On Me!

Happy Labor Day everyone! I'm pretty sure Labor Day is just a day for us to have off work so we can do labor around the house. We got a lot done today. Carpets shampooed, groceries bought, apartment cleaned, laundry done, sweets made. That's right. Sweets have been made.

I have had an incurable sweet tooth lately. (No, I'm not pregnant, so don't even ask.) I just love me some sweets. And, since I picked up my wedding dress this weekend (!) I need to crack down on not eating so much crap. So while perusing Pinterest, I stumbled upon this recipe for Peanut Butter Balls. Sometimes a girl just needs some peanut butter and chocolate.

 Here is the recipe:
1 Cup Kellogs Cracklin' Oats Bran Cereal
1/2 Cup Peanut Butter
Chocolate Chips to Drizzle

-Crumble cereal in food processor and mix with peanut butter. Roll in to ball and place on lined cookie sheet and place in freezer for a bit. Melt your chocolate chips in a ziploc bag, snip off a corner and drizzle over the balls (hah!).

I doubled the recipe and used my small Pampered Chef cookie scoop and got 22 balls(:p).

Pretty Simple Huh?
I did make one substitution to save some calories. I used PB2 instead of normal peanut butter.

Powdered Peanut Butter. Just add water. Pretty genius and healthy.
Ok. The cereal. I had never heard of this cereal before. Looks like cat food and kind of gross right? WRONG! This stuff is delicious! It's like cinnamon-y granola-ish delicious cereal. I just pulsed it in my food processor a few times.
Looks gross. Tastes awesome.
I combined the cereal and PB2, rolled them, and popped them in the freezer for a bit before I drizzled them.
Are you hungry yet?

Delicious, chewy, balls.
Ok, ball jokes aside, these things are awesome and easy to make. I'm storing mine in the freezer because let's be real, who doesn't love frozen peanut butter and chocolate. I think next time I might add some oats just to stretch it a little farther and make more. The best part about these though, three of these bad boys are just under 100 calories and there is tons of fiber so you're not still hungry afterwards. The perfect little dessert.

Do you guys have any simple, sin-free, go-to dessert recipes? This one will definitely be added into my favorites. If you try it out, let me know what you think!

Get out of my dreams, and into my car!

Hi people! I know you're thinking... who is this girl? She hasn't blogged for about a decade. Well I've been busy. Wedding planning. Work. Summer. More wedding planning. More work. And buying a new car.

Yes, that's right. I finally broke down and bought a new car. For you guys who know me, you know that I loved my car, Bruce. So it wasn't an easy decision. I had been toying around with the idea of buying a new car for awhile. I'm a grown up now (apparently), and I finally have a job where I make enough money where I can afford a car payment. But I wasn't quite ready to cave yet. After all, Bruce still ran pretty well. Who cares if he is 13 years old. He's still pretty stylish.
Bruce Almighty. Pretty good lookin' car for being that old huh?
But that's when things started to go down hill.... I paid $500 to get some stuff fixed on it and thought that would solve my problem and we'd be good to go. Well, after I paid that $500, the air conditioning slowly started to go out and that's when the awful noises started. I didn't know a car could screech and rattle and sound so terrible. So a month or so after I dropped five hundy, I took Bruce to the shop again. Got a call a couple days later, it was going to cost $1800 to fix everything that needed fixing. One thousand eight hundred. Dollars. I had a panic attack and died a little bit inside. How could my trusty ol' Brucey die on me and expect me to pay $1800?!

After debating for a long time, I finally caved. Let me introduce you to our newest addition to our family. Aka. The first care I've ever purchased. (Aside from my first car that cost $300.)
Welcome, Phoebe, Phoebs. Pheobe Buffay. Aka my new car!
When did you guys buy your first real car? Do you always have hand-me-downs like I did?

High Fiver!

Hi people! I'm a little late to the game today, but better late than never right?! Considering we were coming off of a holiday, it was a pretty good week. No complaints here! So let's get right down to it and take a look at the highlights from the week.

1. We had a big sales blitz for work this week. Both my bosses were gone for the first half of the week which is like a vacation in itself. I got to sneak out of the office early and got to relax a little bit.

2. I got to leave for the 2nd half of the week with one of my coworkers to do some sales calls in God's country aka Lincoln, NE.
I love driving in to Lincoln and seeing the stadium.
3. I got to visit all of my favorite places while in Lincoln as well as some new ones. We visited a Brazilian restaurant where they bring the different meats around to your table and cut off pieces for you. It was a really neat experience, but a little pricey. Good thing we were there on business!

4. I finally got to use the pool at our apartment! I had it completely to myself for a couple hours this weekend. It was fabulous! I sat in my floatie in the middle of the pool with a drink in my hand and soaked up a few rays. Finally!

5. I don't know if I've told you guys this yet or not but we're getting a Hard Rock Hotel and Casino here in Sioux City. It opens August 1st and I. Am. Pumped! They are having over 200 live acts (including the Goo Goo dolls, Hello freshman year of high school!) in the first year. I've already bought tickets to two shows! Today as a promo through a local radio station we bought $10 tickets to go see David Nail, Craig Campbell and Charlie Worsham, some up and coming country artists. I also splurged and bought from row tickets to see one of my favorits, Phil Vassar! I'm so excited!

Love Him!

I hope you guys had a great week as well, enjoy the weekend! I'm hoping we have good weather this weekend!

Choosing a wedding dress is a lot like choosing a husband. You search and search and search, sometimes online, you try a bunch on, reconsider a few and eventually decide on the one that couldn't be any more perfect for you.
Well people, I bought my wedding dress this weekend. I found the one. It is ordered and paid for thanks to Momma Deb. I won’t show you or tell you what I ended up getting, I’m going to try to keep that a surprise for the next 10 months, but I will let you know that it is very fun and very unique. I just want to hurry up and get it and show everyone, but luckily so I don’t spill the beans, I won’t have it until about October. I will show you some pictures of the contenders though, the ones that eventually lost out to the THE ONE.
I went to a few different stores before I found the dress that I wanted. Our first trip was to David’s Bridal. I always heard horror stories about how terrible David’s is. It wasn't completely terrible, but I wasn't super impressed either. The sales girl was just kind of blah. I kept asking for something different and she kept pulling the same type of dresses. Here are a couple that I liked from there. (Ignore the ridiculous look on my face in all of these photos.)

The sales girl got a little pushy towards the end of my appointment, which made me really not want to buy a dress that day.

My next stop was to a bridal outlet store. The atmosphere here was a little different. You were pretty much on your own to pull dresses and tried them on. The sales ladies helped a little bit, but I was completely on my own to get into and out of dresses, which if you've ever tried on a wedding dress, is sometimes very hard. Although I did find a serious contender here, I didn't end up buying. I am probably going to make a trip back for a veil that I really liked.

My third and final stop was at the Alfredo Angelo store in Lincoln. This was the store I was holding out for. They had exactly what I was looking for, I pretty much just needed to try it on first. Although the sales girl didn't have much for a personality, she was very helpful in the dressing room making sure that all the dresses looked presentable and were clipped, zipped and pinned before I showed anyone. That definitely helped the experience instead of me just walking out in a dress that didn't fit and wasn't zipped/laced up. After trying on what I wanted with a few adjustments and additions, I walked out of there having purchased my dress. But, you won't get to see that until I'm walking down the aisle. :)

White Wedding

So far, the easiest part of planning our wedding has been choosing the venue. Eric and I both work at facilities that host weddings frequently, so it was obviously going to be one of those two places. There were pros and cons to each location.

The building that Eric works in and runs is actually an old auditorium. It has various uses in its many years. Back in the day it used to hold concerts, the circus and other events. Now it has basketball and volleyball courts, a rock wall and hosts roller derby bouts every once in awhile. So if you’re picturing it in your head, it’s not the most glamorous setting for a wedding. The good thing about it is that we would be able to bring in any caterer that we wanted, which would save us a little bit of money.

On the other end of the spectrum, is my place of employment. One a scale of 1 to 10 of classy establishments, it’s pretty close to a 10. Although don’t let it fool you, because we do hold some pretty crazy events that aren't so classy, including dog shows and gamer conventions. (We really just do it all.) The only con if we chose to use my location is that we would have to use our catering. The food itself is not an issue. The food is pretty much the  It is however on the pricey side.

We eventually decided to choose my location. J The cost of the actual location was not an issue for us. We are very fortunate in that we wouldn't have to pay a rental fee for either place. So it really just boiled down to the location and the look of the place. Since we don’t have to pay for rental, it gives us a little more money to spend on food and beverages. The other bonus, is that my location also has a venue for us to have our actually ceremony since we’re not doing a church wedding. (That’s a story for another day). And I might be a little bit biased, but it’s one of the most beautiful locations in the Sioux City area. I've posted some eye candy for you below. I don't have any pictures of the inside of the reception area because we just remodeled! (Our owner likes to spend a lot of money on us.)

So tell me, was it easy for you guys to decide on a location for your ceremony and/or reception? What were some of the pros and cons you had?
Up those stairs near the fountain is where (hopefully, weather permitting) is where our ceremony will be.

It's my life.

Hello everyone!!!! I know it's been a few months since you've heard from me. And no, I haven't fallen off the face of the Earth! With wedding planning going in full force, I'm going to try to get better at this blogging stuff so I can keep you all in the loop and kind of document the journey of wedding plan. So, sorry not sorry if you don't like wedding shit. Deal with it. Before I get into any wedding stuff though, I'm going to fill you all in on what's been going on in my life over the past few months.

Eric used his first hashtag at the Nebraska Spring Game. #GoBigRed

I bought my wedding shoes. Obviously that's the most important part of the wedding.

I ate a lot of Easter candy. My favorite. (Also, shameless ring photo.)

I went to my dear friend Mallory's bachelorette party.

The vet told us that Morgan is overweight. (Yes, that's whipped cream.)

We visited the beautiful state of Michigan. I'm definitely smitten with the mitten.

I went blonde and love it.

They now sell Baja Blast in stores. I no longer need to go to Taco Bell to fulfill my addiction.

So that's just a little hint of what has been going on in my life over the past few months of my blogging hiatus. Not a whole lot happened obviously, but there is definitely a lot more in store over the next 11ish months with all the wedding planning I'll be doing. Stay tuned!

Web Wednesday!

Hey everyone! Long time no see! Well there is a reason behind that, and I'll tell you about it in today's Web Wednesday, because really, it has to do with the web.

A couple weeks ago our internet went out at work. We can't do anything at work when the internet is out. None of our programs work, our email doesn't work, etc. Well they got us all up and rebooted and on our merrry way.... but........ Blogger is now blocked at work! Before I always allowed myself a half hour of my lunch to write a quick blog post. Now that I can't do that, it's been really hard for me to find time to blog. But don't fret, I will do my best to keep you all updated. Maybe I'll have to start getting up earlier, I don't know!

But I hope you're all having a great week!

High Five!

Happy Friday everyone! We made it! Another week has come and gone and we've survived! Barely, but we've survived! All in all the week wasn't too bad and there are a few things to be excited about, so let's get to high-fivin'!

1. I made it to the gym and/or worked out in some way every day this week. I'm pretty proud of that considering I usually take a day off in the middle.

2. I was pretty busy at work this week so it went pretty fast. We have a basketball tournament coming up next week like the volleyball tournament we had this winter. We have another team we're sponsoring so I'm pumped to be an honorary coach again.

3. I sent out some little gifts to my bridesmaids popping the question to them. They should all be getting them in the mail today which makes me super excited! I just have to wait for them to get them now. There will probably be a post on these later next week :)

4. One of my close friends, Mallory, is going to be in town tonight. She actually worked in my position at my job before me which is always fun and we always have good gossip to talk about. Plus we're going out to eat at one of our favorite restaurants tonight.

5. Some of my other dear friends will be in town tomorrow as well. We're renting out one of the suites at my hotel and we're going to have a girls night. I'm really looking forward to it since I haven't seen any of them for a long time.

I hope you all had a great week as well and have an AWESOME weekend!

Web Wednesday!

Happy Web Wednesday everyone!! What is Web Wednesday you might ask? Well I'll tell you. It's a fabulous day in the middle of the week where I share with you something I found on the world wide web that I think you all might enjoy. If you feel like participating with me, feel free to grab this here logo and start searching the web!

Today I have another video to share with you. We all know I love videos and we also know I love Corgis. So here, my friends, is a video of a Corgi bellyflopping. Just try not to laugh.

I hope you all enjoyed this week's Web Wednesday. Check back next week for more!

Going to the Chapel

So as you all know, I'm getting hitched. So I've kind of sort of started wedding planning a little bit. We still have a long time to wait, so I haven't done much other than a date (4-25-15) and a venue (Helloooo, I work at a beautiful hotel). Oh, and that we're having a gourmet popcorn bar (We love our popcorn). So mostly my planning has consisted of a lot of Pinteresting.  A LOT.

Mainly I'm here today to tell you about something related to wedding planning that I think is absolutely ridiculous. The thing I find most ridiculous about weddings are wedding favors. You know the cutesy little things people spend hours putting together and planning that always just end up in the trash. Here are a few examples...
Sorry not sorry, but you won't be getting mini doughnuts to take home at our reception.

Who even uses matches still?

Let's be real, 99% of these ended up in the trash.

Yeah, sure they're cute. But, they're completely unnecessary. I can tell you that I don't remember a single favor I ever got at anyone's wedding. (Except for a terrible, little, fake topiary, but that's a story for another day.) So I'm sorry if you guys got your hopes up that you would score an awesome favor at my upcoming nuptials, but it's not gonna happen. You're already getting a $30 per person meal and free booze. I think you can live without my personalized matchbook/seed packet/fake topiary.

Monday #3.

Happy Wednesday everyone!
I'm just going to do a quick little Web Wednesday Post. Because, well, I'm over it. This week needs to be over. Stat. So what is Web Wednesday you might ask? Well, it's when I find something on the interwebs that I think you all might enjoy. Or I at least enjoy and hope that you might too. If you feel like joining in, just grab this little logo below and search the web to your little heart's content.

And because I'm over it, I found this little gem this morning that completely describes how I feel right now.

And let's be real, Pre-Mondays are the WORST. So I hope you all enjoy your Monday #3 and aren't on the struggle bus as much as I am right now. Have a great day.

Peace and Blessings.

Web Wednesday!

Happy Hump Day Everyone!!
It's finally time to jump into a little thing I like to call Web Wednesday! It's just a little day where I go out into the world wide web and find something I think ya'll might enjoy. It might be something funny, something inspirational, something weird. Anything! If you feel like joining in, by all means, go for it!

Today I bring you one of my favorite YouTube videos of all time. Sometimes, when I'm having a bad day, I just like to look up videos of babies laughing because it just always puts a smile on my face. So here you go....

I just love that he laughs so hard that he falls over. I want to laugh that hard. I want something to be so incredibly funny that I just tip over in sheer delight.

So, I hope you all have a great day and laugh a little bit during it!

L is for the Way You Look at Me

You guys might have seen my post from Friday where I posted about getting engaged. AND YES I'M GETTING MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe it. I am so incredibly excited that I get to spend the rest of my life with Eric. He is the love of my life and my best friend.

And the proposal was perfect. It might not have gone down like the ones you see on Pinterest. But it was absolutely perfect. I couldn't have asked for anything more. There was no one hiding out taking pictures, it wasn't up on a scoreboard, it wasn't written across the sky, we weren't in front of all our family in friends. I'm so glad that none of those things happened. We were simply at home in our dining room after work just the two of us (and Morgan!). It was beyond perfect. I'm smiling just thinking about it.

I had given Eric his Valentine's day gift the day before, so when I got home on Wednesday, I wasn't surprised when I saw a card and candy waiting for me. Neither of us can wait very long after buying gifts to give them to each other. He met me at the door and said, "I figured your gift would be us going out to eat on Friday, but I also got you a card." I opened the card and started reading. It was one of those cards that has a few pages. On the last page of an amazing card, Eric had written, "Will you Marry Me!!!" At that time he got down on one knee and popped the question! I think I blacked out for a little bit and after freaking out a little bit, I said YES!

It was so unbelievably perfect.

High Fivin'!

What a whirlwind of a week you guys! Holy cow! I have quite a bit to high five about!

1. I got some of my bonuses at work this week as well as my tax return. So right now, I feel like I'm rollin' in the dough. It's been nice because I'm able to catch up on all the student loans, pay off some bills and save a little bit of it. I also might have spoiled myself a bit with some of it....

2. With one of my bonuses, I bough a brand new bed for us! We went shopping for one awhile ago and I absolutely fell in love with it and couldn't get my mind off of it for the next month. We finally went and bought it and just picked it up on Monday! Ignore the fact that nothing in our bedroom matches, but there is still some money left over for a new bedding set and maybe new curtains. (Hellooooo man cave! Am I right?!)
Yes. That certificate is what you think it is. Eric owns stock in the Green Bay Packers and Yes it's having above our bed.

3. Work has gone surprisingly well this week. I landed a huge client all by myself and got to bask in the glory of it. It's a brand new company that I reached out to with no help from anyone and it feels great.

4. Another awesome thing about work is that we have amazing suites that we can hold parties in such as Origami Owl and Lularoe Skirt parties. I've been pining after an Origami Owl necklace for a long time. Well, I finally sold a kidney used some of my bonus money and bought myself one. Let me tell ya, those things are not cheap, but they're adorable.
Sorry for the crappy cell phone picture, but this is what roughly one kidney will get you in Origami Owl products.

5. There wasn't anything else major this week that happened. Except the fact that I'm now engaged. I mean it's no big deal. YEAHRIGHTI'MSOEXCITEDI'MGETTINGMARRIED!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! You guys!!! I'm getting married! I have a fiance! EEEEE!!!! I think I'm still in shock a little bit. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't worry, there will be a post coming up next week about how it all went down. In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy my Valentine's day and go out tonight to formally celebrate our engagement! (eeee I'm engaged!)
We're gettin' hitched!!!
Have a great day everyone!!! Happy Love Day!

Web Wednesday

So after a month and a half long brief hiatus, I'm back, and with some new stuff! I'm starting what I like to call Web Wednesdays. There is no doubt about it, I have grown up in the age of the internet. I've been connected to the web for as long as I can remember. And there is nothing I love more (except Eric and Morgan) than surfing the web for random shiz. So I bring you, Web Wednesday. Feel free to participate if you would like, the more the merrier!

As you all know, I love the Olympics. You might have heard that NBC Commentator Bob Costas came down with a nasty case of pinkeye. Well, it didn't take long for the pinkeye to spread. Not only to his other eye, but it went straight up viral. There are memes and twitter accounts galore depicting poor Bob Costas' unfortunate timing of pinkeye. So I present to you... The 20 Funniest Tweets About Bob Costas' Pinkeye.
My favorite one... "I guess Bob Costas won't be working for 20/20 anytime soon." Hilarious.

So, let me know what ya think, not only about poor Bob's pinkeye, but also about Web Wednesday. If you want to join in the fun, let me know and I'll hook ya up with that fancy logo up there!

Have a great day!
